In short

In our data, the cheapest Rome stays rated 4.0 or higher start at about 52 to 56 euros a night for two guests (Palazzo Sant'Antonio Roma, Melting Pot Rome, Hotel Villa San Lorenzo Maria).

In Rome you walk through 2,000 years in an afternoon: from the Colosseum past the Forum to the Pantheon, on to the Baroque fountains of Piazza Navona, and across the Tiber to St Peter's. Much of it is still free, even if the city has started charging for more: since February 2026 the area by the Trevi Fountain costs 2 euros. Our data shows a huge gap between seasons, with hotels in late January costing a fraction of spring prices. Well-rated stays start at about 52 euros a night.
